Gilbert Cruz

Gilbert Cruz is the editor of The New York Times Book Review, where he oversees all of The Times's news, feature and review coverage of books. He is also host of the weekly Book Review podcast, where he regularly interviews authors and other literary luminaries. Prior to the Book Review, Cruz ran The Times's Culture department, overseeing coverage of film, pop music, television, classical music, art and theater. A native of the Bronx, New York, Cruz has also worked at Time Magazine, New York Magazine's Vulture and Entertainment Weekly.
